The right to privacy during hospitalization, examination, procedures and treatment.
Patients and their families have the right to address their special preferences, spiritual and cultural needs.
The right to confidentiality of hospital care and clinical information.
The right to be informed about all procedures including anesthesia, blood transfusion, high-risk procedures or their inclusion in any clinical research program. Their consent for the same must be obtained.
The right for information on how to voice a complaint.
The right for information on expected costs of treatment.
The right to protection from physical abuse or neglect.
The right to access to his/her records in consonance with medical ethics and statutory requirement.
Right to be informed of a plan of care, progress and information on their health care needs.
Patients or their families have the right to refuse treatment.
Patient Rights and Responsibilities
Patients or their families accept the responsibility for the following:
Consequences related to the refusal of treatment or not following the medical teams’ advice.
For giving accurate and complete information at all times, including registration, consultation and discussion with medical personnel, and billing.
For reporting unexpected changes in the condition of the patient to the concerned medical team.
To understand and follow the treatment plan prescribed by the medical team.
For the payment of their bills or making arrangements for the same before their discharge.
For restricting the number of visitors and complying with visiting hours during their hospitalization.
For cooperating with the staff of the hospital and respecting the property, and rules and regulations of the hospital, as well as the property of others.
