Dr. Harikumar R Nair is a Gastrointestinal  physician with over two decades of experience caring for  patients with a wide range of digestive disorders- functional, inflammatory and neoplastic  bowel disorders, pancreatic  and liver diseases . His area of interest is liver care (Hepatology).

With extensive training globally in Hepatology and Liver Transplant Medicine, Dr. Nair has worked in Liver units of prestigious institutions in India and abroad.

He has undergone training in Portal Hypertension as senior clinical fellow in Hepatology with hepatic hemodynamics as focus at INSELSPITAL, the university hospital of Bern, Switzerland. This training tenure centred round management of advanced /end stage liver disease with portal hypertension (increased liver pressure) with exposure on procedures done in this patient population namely, Hepatic venous pressure gradient measurement (HVPG), TransJugular liver biopsies(TJLB) and Transjugular Intrahepatic Pportosytemic Shunt(TIPS) placement.
