Role of Staff Nurses
• Provide holistic nursing service to assigned patients under their care with empathy and an understanding of their individual identity.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation regarding the services provided, as per the set standards.
• Carry out all nursing procedures such as bed making, recording vital signs, dressing, administration of medication and assistance to the patient for their needs.
• Assisting doctors in ward rounds and carrying out their orders.
• Communicating with the patient/family member on any queries or concerns relating to the care provided in the hospital. Any issues that can be resolved on the spot are to be carried out without delay. If a solution cannot be found immediately, the matter is to be escalated to the Head nurse.
• Meeting the psychological, social & spiritual needs of the patient, wherever possible, according to the policies set by the hospital.
• Provide relevant heath information to the patient/family member, as required, regarding the condition being treated and the progress being made.
• Provide the necessary assistance to the Head nurses in carrying out their activities.
