    Medical Qualification

    Dr. John holds an MD in General Medicine, demonstrating his comprehensive knowledge in internal medicine. He further pursued advanced training in Nephrology, earning a DM (Doctorate of Medicine) degree. His qualifications reflect his dedication to becoming an expert in the management of kidney-related conditions.

      Experience

      Established Nephrology Department and started a new Dialysis unit in Smita Memorial Hospital and Research Centre, Thodupuzha, Idukki, Kerala- 685608. Established Interventional Nephrology and started private room dialysis facility in Ernakulam Medical Centre, Kochi-682028. Had been a part of 70 kidney transplant surgeries (both live and deceased) and handled perfusion of graft kidney. Had placed more than 1000 percutaneous tunneled permanent catheters both antegrade & retrograde jugular and femoral under ultrasound & fluoroscopic guidance for hemodialysis. Had performed more than 5000 uncuffed dialysis catheter insertions both jugular and femoral for hemodialysis. Had done more than 100 percutaneous native and graft renal biopsies. Had conducted more than 200 Plasmapheresis and 100 CRRT’s. 11. Have good experience in CRRT and all modalities of dialysis.  Had worked in pediatric nephrology and performed 6 pediatric kidney transplants and more than 10 peritoneal dialysis in children. During M.D residency he was awarded with two national prizes. Speaker and Chairperson for various physical and virtual conferences at State, National and International levels. 

      He specializes in clinical and interventional nephrology, offering a range of advanced procedures, including:

        • Percutaneous Tunneled Permanent Hemodialysis catheter placement in Cath lab (antegrade and retrograde)
        • Temporary Jugular and Femoral Vein Hemodialysis Catheter placement
        • Real-time USG-guided Percutaneous Renal Biopsy and PD catheter placement.
