Established in 1985, the Microbiology unit at EMC Hospital conducts a comprehensive range of serological tests and cultures bacteriological samples from patients. Managed by qualified medical professionals and utilizing fully automated systems like VIDAS and VITEK-2, the department maintains a database of over 3500 microorganisms. It performs routine laboratory investigations with precision and promptly transmits results to relevant departments. The Microbiology lab also plays a crucial role in the hospital's Infection Control program, undertaking various surveillance activities and reporting communicable infectious diseases.
